Very funny! The elevator muzak version of Highway to Hell in the background was a nice touch.

Unfortunately the Church has usually focussed on stuff that doesn’t matter that much in ways that actually end up promoting it! Most kids reading that pamphlet would think “Cool! I might listen to some!”

And they’re writing against bands that haven’t seen the inside of a concert for a decade or aren’t known!

    Anyway, good laugh.

Thanks for listening and the feedback. Great point. Some people get obsessed, typically with good intentions but they execute poorly.

Modern bands weren’t included. Certainly Marilyn Manson could’ve been included in such a list.

More importantly, why Bon Jovi? (LOL) That seemed weird to me, especially since he’s been getting more Country music-ish of late.

Regarding the music, there’s a surprising amount of heavy metal music converted to MIDI. I can only assume people use them for their ring tones.

The elevator music-like songs briefly heard in that episode for everyone’s enjoyment:
    - AC/DC “Highway to Hell”
    - Quiet Riot “Cum On Feel the Noize”
    - Black Sabbath “Iron Man”
    - Crazy Train dance mix. I have no idea how that snuck into my iTunes, but it’s been there for years. Sounds like Madonna singing, so it fit perfectly.

As for the usefulness of MIDI files… They are incredible small file sizes and efficient for protable devices. I used to have the A-Team theme set for when my wife calls me, and Pearl Jam’s Jeremy to notify me if I have voice mail. Why? Because I can. No rational reason.

Got something to say?
