Grill’n and Chill’n

April 28, 2007

Bad Dad ApprovedI love my Weber BBQ grill. I had a dedicated natural gas line run out to it so I don’t have to mess with propane tanks. We fire that bad boy up all year round, even during the winter months. Skirt steaks and veggies. Mmmm.

I can’t resist channeling my inner Paul Hogan and throwing “shrimp on ‘da barbie” while downing a Fosters.

The Weber is great, but… it’s not iPod ready.

Aparently that was a void some marketers felt was necessary to fill. Introducing the George Foreman iGrill.

Available for $150 at Linens ‘n Things:

Turn your backyard BBQ into an instant party with the iGrill from George Foreman. The iGrill has a 200 square inch nonstick grilling surface that is covered with George’s Tough Nonstick Coating. The included 10 watt speaker system plays your favorite tunes from your iPod, MP3 or other USB music system.

Bad Dad ApprovedThere’s a great episode of the American version of the television series “The Office” where our management hero burns his foot on his George Foreman grill. He explains that he likes to wake up to the smell of bacon in the morning. So he sets up the grill next to his bed. In the morning, he switches it in, sleeps for a few more minutes then wakes up to the smell of grilled bacon. His morning routine goes horribly wrong when he accidently steps on the grill.

Obviously someone saw a need, and came out with the George Foreman USB iGrill. Simply plug that bad boy into your PC via the USB 2.0 connector. Only $99 at ThinkGeek.com.

Do you have any BBQ needs to fill? Perhaps a grill for the bathroom? Or your car?

Wow. I love gadgets. You could say I have a passion or obsession with gadgets.

These things, however, are just that side of the line for me. I can’t justify a grill that’s iPod-ready.

    Thanks for finding these.

Got something to say?
