Man, I gotta tell you. We Aussies envy you Americans the FUN you have on July 4th!! Our ‘Australia Day’ pales in comparison.
Yeah, I guess like a lot of things, more and more of us take it for granted. The original meaning gets diminished and ignored. I’m ashamed to admit that I would have preferred to go to bed early than taking the kids out in drizzling rain to see the show. Watching fireworks while under umbrellas on a hot summer night wasn’t bad at all.
